The Calm After the Storm

So I've been meaning to post something about Union since the tornado hit on Tuesday night. However, I simply couldn't find the words. I'm still in shock over what happend. It is a miracle that everyone survived and I'm very grateful that those who were in critical condition are now doing better.
Sara and I were talking last night about how seeing these pictures brought back so many memories. For instance, when I see pictures of Jelks I think of my Junior year when Sara and I tore off the door frame of another roomates room. When I see Patton I think of huddling in the bathroom during another Tornado. When I see Jones I think of the fall of my Senior year and how much time I spent in Jones 1 trying to hide from certain people.
Union was a strange place for me filled now with bitter-sweet memories. I'm grateful for the friendships I made there and for the ones that continue to grow. My thoughts are going out to all of the students, faculty and staff there who are now trying to rebuild their lives. One thing I do know is that in typical Union style, they will rebuild together.
